How To Keep Our Faith During The COVID-19 Pandemic

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10

The COVID-19 (Corona Virus) pandemic has shocked the nation. People are living in fear. The fear of contracting the virus and possibly losing their lives. In the space of a month, our world has changed drastically, but there’s one constant thing in our lives, and that’s our faith in Jesus Christ.

It is only human to fear things, but as Christians we need to understand that God will not do anything to harm us, He is our protector, and He loves us and will not lead us into darkness. We need to have faith.

Yes it is easy for someone to tell you to have faith, it is also easy to say that you have faith but faith is never an easy thing to keep. It is sometimes difficult to keep your faith when the world is falling apart right in front of you.

Here are some ways to help you keep your faith:

Pray every day. Ask God to keep you safe during this pandemic, pray for the people infected with the virus and pray for those whose lives were affected by the virus. Also remember to show your love to God through prayer.

Here are some scriptures you can read during this period to help us keep our faith.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13

“But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”  Isaiah 43:1

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”  Psalm 23:4

Take this time to worship the Lord. This can be done by singing Worship songs which can easily be found on YouTube, Spotify etc. This will not only bring you closer to God but also strengthen your faith.
